Director of Marketing & Sales

GNI Capital, a rapidly growing asset management firm with roughly $250 million under management, is seeking a Director of Marketing & Sales to expand its client base in the small-to-midsize institutional market, leading the company to its next level of success.

GNI provides investment management services to institutional clients including mutual fund sponsors, trust companies, investment advisory firms, corporate retirement plans and family offices, in addition to high net worth investors.

GNI’s principal investment strategy is equity long/short, for which the company has an 8+ year, GIPS-compliant track record. From its inception in January 1999, the GNI Long/Short Equity portfolio has demonstrated an average return exceeding the S&P 500 in both up and down markets, with an extremely low correlation to the broad market. GNI also serves as sub-advisor to two mutual funds and a common trust fund.

We are looking for someone with vast experience in the small-to-midsize institutional marketplace who can quickly grasp the firm’s investment strategies and strengths, and then formulate and implement all aspects of a marketing and sales plan. Professionalism and an entrepreneurial spirit a must.

Responsibilities include:

MARKETING: Direct Marketing Programs to Augment Sales Growth

  • Establish marketing and sales program
  • Lead generation, RFP response, and prospecting
  • Sales training
  • Overseeing creation of sales materials, advertising, communications, and direct mail
  • Research, planning, and policy
  • Product positioning and branding
  • Maintain consultant, association and external industry relationships

SALES: Direct Business Solicitation to Optimize Sales Effort and Success

  • Presentations
  • Team coordination, training, and coaching
  • Team administration, measurement, monitoring, and reporting
  • Sales officer recruiting and supervision
  • Sales and distribution channel development and management
